Moving Tips

Moving doesn’t have
to be stressful.

With the right planning and guidance, your relocation can be smooth and even enjoyable.

In this section, we’ve gathered expert tips to help you every step of the way.

  • 1. How to Move

A man and a woman are sitting on the floor using a laptop computer.

A successful move starts long before the boxes are packed. The key is to stay organized, know your timeline, and avoid last-minute surprises. Whether you’re moving across town, across the country or internationally, here’s what can help:

    • Start planning at least 4-6 weeks before your moving date
    • Create a personalized moving checklist to stay on track
    • Research and book a licensed moving company early
    • Talk to your children about the move to help them adjust
    • Notify schools, utility companies, and postal services of your new address
    • Don’t hesitate to ask us—our team is here to support you from day one
  • 2. Packing Tips

Four cardboard boxes are stacked on top of each other in an empty room.

Packing is more than putting things in boxes. Smart packing protects your belongings and saves you time during unpacking.

    Here are some helpful tips:

    • Label every box with its contents and the room it belongs to
    • Use bubble wrap or towels for fragile items
    • Research and book a licensed moving company early
    • Don’t overpack boxes – heavy items go in smaller boxes
    • Pack essentials (toiletries, clothes, chargers) in a separate bag
  • 3. Insurance

If you don’t have insurance, we strongly recommend purchasing a policy from a third-party provider. We’re happy to assist—just give us a call before your move. While moving companies offer basic valuation protection, it’s not full-value insurance. Make sure your belongings are truly protected.

  • 4. Rules & Regulations
